Jefit Alternatives, Compared

Jefit already documents load increases, holds, and deloads plus exercise goals, so switching for progression alone rarely makes sense. The real differences are price, which tier the progression engine belongs to, and whether you want calorie tracking in the same app.

Jefit already does the thing most switchers are looking for

Jefit documents a load progression engine that can increase, hold, or reduce weight based on performance and effort, and it documents exercise goals you set yourself. Those are the two features people usually leave a logger to find, so "better progression" is not, by itself, a good reason to move. Jefit's progression system, how the engine works, exercise goals.

Three reasons hold up instead: the annual price, an entitlement question Jefit's public plan table does not answer, and whether you want your food log in the same app as your training log.

We publish Lift, one of the alternatives below. This page compares publisher documentation and listed US-dollar prices checked on 7 September 2026, not hands-on testing. The exercise-goals guide we opened is dated 2022, so confirm the current behavior in the app.

The entitlement question worth settling first

Jefit Basic lists custom routines, an exercise library, logging, and history. Elite is listed at $12.99 monthly with a standard annual renewal of $69.99; the page we checked also advertised a discounted $52.49 first year, which is excluded from the comparisons below. Jefit membership plans.

If you are paying for the progression engine

Compare it against what you would get, not against a general promise of progressive overload.

Lift stores the rep range and weight increment on each exercise in your plan, so a compound lift and an accessory can progress on different rules. That configuration, previous-set history, and RPE logging are free. Lift Premium is what calculates the next target from your logged sets, with an optional energy check before the session that can pull the day's targets back.

Multi-week periodization is free in Lift: linear, reverse linear, weekly undulating, and 5x5 strength example cycles for individual exercises, or a custom schema you save and reuse. That is the closest thing to planning lighter weeks in advance rather than waiting for an engine to prescribe one.

The honest limit of that comparison: Jefit explicitly describes reducing load as part of its engine. Lift's documented progression works from previous performance, rep ranges, and the optional energy check. Those are different designs, and neither description establishes better results in the gym. If a stall is what brought you here, the fix is usually diagnosing the plateau rather than changing apps.

If you use exercise goals

Both apps have them, so this is not a reason to switch either. Lift includes two exercise goals at a time in the free tier, with current and achieved goals and feedback when you hit one, and Premium expands the allowance. Free personal-record tracking covers weight, estimated one-rep max, reps, time, and volume where they apply to the exercise, which is what makes progress visible when the weight on the bar has not moved.

What the money looks like

Jefit EliteLift Premium
Monthly$12.99$6.99
Annual, standard$69.99$44.99
Ongoing free tierCustom routines, exercise library, logging, historyUnlimited logging, 2 splits, 5 workouts, 2 goals, PR tracking, periodization, food and bodyweight logging

Lift's free tier also includes food, calorie, macro, and bodyweight logging, so the training log and the food log sit in one app. Check the current Jefit plan pages for what its tiers include today; the table we opened lists routines, library, logging, and history for Basic. The free versus Premium breakdown covers Lift's side in full.

When to stay with Jefit

Stay if the progression engine is already included on your plan and you use its deload behavior, or if its exercise library and your training history there are doing real work for you. A documented engine that increases, holds, and reduces load is a specific piece of functionality, and no page here shows that another app reproduces it.

Export your history before you decide either way. Whichever app you land on, a switch costs you continuity, and that cost is easier to accept when you have the file.
